There’s something so special about escaping to the seaside as a family, and our recent two-night stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole gave us exactly the kind of break we needed. The moment we arrived, the friendly team welcomed us with smiles and those famous warm DoubleTree cookies, which instantly won over the kids. We checked into our King One Bedroom Suite with Sea View and Balcony, and as soon as we opened the door, we knew we were in for a treat.
The suite was huge — 72 square metres of modern comfort — and felt more like a stylish apartment than a hotel room. It had a beautiful king bed for us and a sofa bed already prepared for the kids, which made settling in easy and stress-free. The design was fresh and elegant, with a calming mix of soft greys, green tones, and splashes of warm colour. The carpet felt soft underfoot, and the lighting created such a cosy atmosphere. The space was divided into a main bedroom area and a large living and dining area that opened up towards the balcony and that incredible sea view.
We were greeted by a lovely surprise on the marble table — two bottles of Franklin & Sons raspberry lemonade, a can of Dash water, and a box of DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole luxury chocolates. It was a sweet and thoughtful touch that made the room feel personal and welcoming. The living area had a dining table where we enjoyed drinks and snacks, two comfortable armchairs, and a massive HDTV on the wall. There was another TV in the bedroom too, which meant no arguments about what to watch. An espresso machine sat neatly by the desk, perfect for our morning coffee, and the kids loved sitting by the window looking out at the beach below.
The balcony quickly became everyone’s favourite spot. From there, we could see the full stretch of Brighton Beach, the rows of boats, and the remains of the old pier in the distance. We stood there as the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky painted in soft pinks and golds, and it really felt like time slowed down for a moment.
The bathroom was another highlight — sleek, modern, and beautifully designed. It had a walk-in rainfall shower, a separate bathtub, and gorgeous patterned tiles that gave it a chic, boutique feel. The glowing mirror added a touch of luxury, and the fluffy robes and slippers were perfect for winding down after a busy day by the sea.
Every detail of the suite was designed with comfort in mind. From the huge bed and soft linens to the USB ports and espresso machine, it was clear that the hotel had thought of everything a family might need. We all slept soundly each night, lulled by the faint sound of the waves outside.
Each morning, we opened the curtains to that glorious sea view. The light streamed in, reflecting off the water, and we all just stood there for a moment taking it in. There’s something about waking up to the ocean that makes everything feel calmer and brighter.
Our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole was everything we hoped it would be — relaxing, comfortable, and full of those little moments that make family trips special. The King One Bedroom Suite with Sea View and Balcony was spacious, modern, and perfect for families like ours who appreciate both comfort and style. Between the beautiful decor, thoughtful touches, and breathtaking views, it truly felt like a home away from home on the Brighton seafront.
We left with smiles, full hearts, and a few extra chocolates tucked into our bag — the perfect end to a seaside escape we’ll definitely remember.
