Dining at the Harbour Restaurant in Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina was more than just a meal – it was an experience that left us smiling long after dessert. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, with a clean and stylish setting that overlooked the marina’s calm energy. But what truly stood out was the level of care and service we received.

To begin with, we were brought a delicious starter entrée which included homemade fresh hummus, hot naan bread and grilled vegetables.

Our kids were immediately settled in and excited – especially when their meals arrived. Chicken fingers and chips may be a classic, but here they were done right: crispy, hot, and served in generous portions that had the little ones nodding in approval with every bite.

For my wife and me, Chef Jerry went above and beyond. After learning that I’m vegan, he offered to create a custom menu just for us. It started with a cauliflower base pizza, loaded with grilled vegetables – crunchy, colourful, and full of flavour. Next came a warming couscous dish, perfectly seasoned and hearty without feeling heavy.

But the highlight was easily the handmade asparagus ravioli served in a rich tomato sauce. The pasta was delicate, the filling fresh and light, and the sauce brought it all together beautifully. It felt like a fine dining dish, made with real thought and passion.

Dessert was just as impressive – a trio featuring lemon sorbet, vanilla ice cream, and a slice of cheesecake. Every bite was indulgent, refreshing, and the perfect ending to a lovely evening.

The service throughout was exceptional. Rick and Iliana, who looked after us all evening, were attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. They took the time to check in, offer recommendations, and ensure everything was perfect – and it really was. Their welcoming nature made our dinner feel less like a restaurant visit and more like being hosted by friends who truly cared.
