JW Marriott Anaheim Resort Breakfast Review

Tucked away on the lobby level of the JW Marriott Anaheim Resort is a morning haven that families like ours will absolutely adore — Tocca Ferro Italian Chophouse. While it may be known for its elevated Italian dining in the evening, this stylish venue transforms into a bright, welcoming breakfast space that’s nothing short of a buffet lover’s dream.

A wide-angle view of Tocca Ferro’s inviting and modern breakfast dining room, perfect for relaxed family mornings.

We headed down for breakfast expecting a typical hotel spread, but what greeted us was something so much more. The space is beautifully designed, with its honeycomb-style lighting overhead, warm tones, and a layout that balances elegance with comfort. The seating areas were thoughtfully arranged—booths for cosy groups, wide family tables, and even contemporary pops of colour with yellow dining chairs that our kids immediately gravitated toward.

The buffet itself was expansive and beautifully presented. It had everything you could want to start your day, whether you’re craving a light bite or a full hearty meal. For our kids, it was a dream come true. They made a beeline for the bakery section, which was overflowing with fresh donuts, muffins, pastries, croissants, and bagels. There was even a self-serve toasting station right beside various breads—from plain white slices to hearty wholegrains—ready to be crisped to your liking.

Healthy eaters aren’t left out either. There was a lovely selection of fruits — apples, bananas, melons, oranges and individual yogurt portions for those who prefer something light and refreshing. My partner was impressed by the variety of cold meats and cheeses, something we don’t usually see so well-stocked in buffet breakfasts stateside. It gave the spread a very European touch.

As for hot options—this is where Tocca Ferro shines. The long counter was lined with polished chafing dishes filled with scrambled eggs, sausages, crispy bacon, and steel cut oat porridge. One of our kids dove straight into the waffles and pancakes, topping them generously with syrup from the nearby station. The chefs also offered made-to-order eggs, and it was great to see them taking special requests with a smile.

One of the most visually impressive parts of the buffet was the centre island display. With decorative branches, fresh flowers, and baskets filled with pastries and fruit, it added an elevated, almost artistic feel to the entire breakfast experience. The room felt peaceful yet buzzing with the gentle morning energy of guests fuelling up for Disneyland adventures or business meetings.

Tocca Ferro was also remarkably family-friendly. Staff were quick to offer high chairs, refill drinks, and clear used plates without ever feeling intrusive. It felt like they had genuinely anticipated what families would need to feel comfortable. That combination of warm service and upscale environment is something we always appreciate.

The calm, beautiful setting and the impressive range of food made it a memorable experience. Our children left the restaurant smiling and satisfied (a rare achievement before 10am), and we got to enjoy our coffee and pastries with a view of the lush gardens just outside.

What stood out most was the balance — this wasn’t just a breakfast buffet with heaps of food. Every section felt curated and carefully thought through. The quality of ingredients, attention to detail, and layout made it feel like a high-end brunch more than a regular hotel breakfast.

For families staying at JW Marriott Anaheim, Tocca Ferro Italian Chophouse is a must visit in the morning. It’s more than just fuel for the day - it’s a chance to slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy an incredible spread in a setting that feels equal parts elegant and relaxed.

As we walked back to our room, we agreed that this had been one of the most enjoyable hotel breakfasts we’ve had in years. Whether you're travelling with toddlers or teens, picky eaters or full-on foodies, this spot truly has something for everyone. And it sets the tone for the kind of thoughtful, high-quality hospitality that the JW Marriott brand continues to deliver so well.
