Omni Los Angeles Hotel Kids Play Area

Tucked away behind the pool deck on the 4th floor of the Omni Los Angeles Hotel is a hidden gem that our whole family enjoyed — the outdoor kids’ play area. This open-air recreational space turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable parts of our stay.

Right after a swim, we wandered past the pool and discovered the play area, which was beautifully set up with plenty of space, games, and activities that invited us to stay and play. It was clean, bright, and completely family-friendly — a perfect spot to unwind and let off some steam.

Our son, who is a highly ranked table tennis player in the UK, was beyond excited to find an outdoor table tennis table ready for use. He had packed his own bat all the way from England, so this was a perfect opportunity for him to train and enjoy a few matches while on holiday. He spent a long time practising his footwork, serves, and playing rallies — and we all got in on the action too.

We also played several rounds of giant chess and Connect 4. The oversized chessboard made every move feel important, and Connect 4 had us crouching down, laughing, and getting surprisingly competitive as we tried to block each other’s winning lines.

Another popular feature of the area was a bright blue cornhole setup — a classic game where you toss small bags into the hole on an angled board. It quickly became a family favourite. While some of us were new to it, we soon found ourselves trying to outscore each other, cheering with every successful shot. The kids loved it, and it brought out the competitive spirit in all of us.

What made the space even more appealing was its relaxed, open layout. There was a mix of shaded spots and sunny areas, giving everyone room to play or sit back as needed. There were also large checkers, and more space to simply hang out in between games.

We spent a good chunk of our afternoon there — laughing, playing, and enjoying quality time as a family. It was screen-free fun in the fresh air, and after busy days exploring LA, it gave us the perfect balance of activity and calm.

This outdoor play area on the 4th floor isn’t just a nice bonus — it’s one of the many thoughtful touches that make the Omni Los Angeles Hotel so special for families. Whether you’re into table tennis, strategy games, or just spending time together in a vibrant outdoor space, this play area has something for everyone. We’re so glad we discovered it.
