As soon as we opened the door to our double queen room at Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina, we were genuinely impressed by the space. The layout was roomy, well-organised and absolutely perfect for a family of four. The first thing we noticed was how clean and polished everything looked — from the tiled floors to the soft, neutral-coloured walls that added warmth and elegance to the room.
The two queen beds were generous in size and made up with crisp white linen, plenty of plush pillows, and soft bedding — ideal after a long day of travel. The beds were framed by smart wooden headboards, with each having its own sleek bedside wall lamp mounted above for personal reading light. These provided a warm, ambient glow at night, perfect for winding down without harsh overhead lighting.
On either side of the beds were dark wooden nightstands offering plenty of space to store essentials, along with built-in power outlets and USB ports — a practical and welcome feature for a family travelling with devices.
Across from the beds, a large wooden cabinet housed the flat-screen TV and also provided ample storage for our clothes and snacks. The room also had a dedicated workspace with a comfortable chair, ideal for catching up on emails or jotting down travel notes. The lighting in this area was soft and subtle, coming from a stylish desk lamp that matched the room's overall modern aesthetic.
We loved the details — from the textured feature wall art to the light-coloured wood-look tiled floors, which were not only stylish but easy to keep clean. The curtains were thick and full-length, perfect for keeping the early morning light out while we caught up on rest.
One of the nicest surprises was the welcome gift left in our room. A beautifully arranged platter of cookies, chilled milk for the kids, and a bottle of Wycliff Brut was waiting for us. When we explained our dietary restrictions, the staff promptly sent up a replacement platter with hummus, fresh vegetables, and warm naan bread — such a thoughtful touch and a clear sign of how attentive the team at Sonesta truly is.
Even the bathroom was spotless and well-appointed. With a long granite countertop, modern sink, bright vanity lighting, and a large mirror, it felt spacious and functional — with fluffy towels, quality toiletries, and excellent water pressure in the shower.
When we opened the balcony door, you could see the spectacular view of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and tennis court too - what a delight!
Overall, this room was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. It was clean, spacious, and modern — but most of all, it was comfortable. Every detail, from the lighting to the finishes, was carefully chosen to make guests feel welcome and relaxed. A big thank you to the Sonesta team for the lovely touches and excellent service.
