After a busy few days near LAX, we were excited to explore a different part of Los Angeles — and Hotel Indigo in Downtown LA was just the place to do it. As soon as we stepped into our corner suite, we knew we’d found a gem. Light poured in from two full walls of glass, wrapping the space in views of the bustling streets and shimmering skyline. It felt like we were floating above the city — our own peaceful escape high above the action.
The suite had such a unique layout — open, spacious, and cleverly divided. The king bed took centre stage, framed by a dramatic mural of historic LA buildings layered with deep pink florals. It was a bold yet elegant backdrop, and it instantly gave the room personality. The bed itself was large and incredibly inviting, dressed in fresh white linen with pops of deep blue and fuchsia. It looked like something out of a boutique design magazine — and it was just as comfortable as it looked.
For the kids, the hotel had arranged a rollaway bed, which we placed near the window. It fit perfectly and gave them their own little corner without interrupting the flow of the room. That’s one thing we really appreciated — even with the four of us, nothing ever felt cramped. The suite was roomy enough for the kids to play, the grown-ups to relax, and everyone to have space when needed. Two comfy chairs and a round table near the bed offered a perfect spot for snacks, drawing, or gazing out at the city below.
We also loved the smart workspace tucked in by the windows — ideal for a quick email check or photo download session. The stylish glass wardrobe added to the modern feel, and we noticed little touches everywhere — like framed artwork and textured upholstery — that made it feel more like a thoughtfully designed apartment than a hotel room.
And then there was the bathroom. What a showstopper! The black-and-white patterned floor tiles gave it a playful but elegant edge, balanced by the clean white marble in the huge glass-walled shower. We couldn’t believe how much light flooded the bathroom — there was even a full window by the vanity, offering views of the city while we brushed our teeth or got ready. The rainfall shower felt heavenly after a long day out, and there was plenty of counter space for all our bits and bobs. The wicker basket neatly stocked with towels and essentials was a lovely touch too — it made everything feel so organised.
We were up on a high floor, and that really made a difference. Both day and night, the views were something special. We’d sit by the window in the evenings, watching the city lights flicker to life while the kids wound down with their books and games. It felt calm and comfortable, but also a little magical — like we were part of the LA story unfolding outside.
Hotel Indigo truly impressed us with this suite. It wasn’t just a place to sleep — it became part of our trip’s memories. From the bold design and spacious layout to the thoughtful family touches and those unforgettable views, this corner suite gave us everything we needed and more. If you’re visiting LA as a family and want a stylish base in the heart of downtown, we’d absolutely recommend staying here. It made us feel like city explorers by day and pampered guests by night — a perfect balance for travelling families.
