What are the Best Fake Markets in Ahmedabad?

Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujarat and a popular destination for many tourists, offering something for everyone. But besides the historic landmarks, majestic stepwells, and the thriving textile industry, there is a world of imitation goods and “first-copy” products, where you will find almost everything, from knock-off designer handbags and watches to copycat sneakers, sunglasses, perfumes, and clothing that mimic international brands. While they may not be the real deal, many of these items can be convincing, attracting shoppers looking for style on a budget. Let’s take a look at some of these fake markets.

Lal Darwaja Market

Lal Darwaja is arguably Ahmedabad’s most famous shopping area, and when it comes to fake branded goods, it is definitely the undisputed leader. From the moment you step in, you are surrounded by a flurry of activity. Loud vendors shouting out deals, busy shoppers bargaining aggressively, and rows of stalls overflowing with goods are the order of the day.

Here, you can find first-copy Levi’s jeans, Adidas and Nike shoes, Puma backpacks, and even watches branded as Fossil, Casio, and Rolex (though obviously not genuine). Some stalls even claim to have “imported” stock.

The quality varies, but some products can easily pass for originals at a glance. It is also a hub for fake perfumes mimicking high-end designer scents. Prices are shockingly low, and bargaining is not just expected, it is essential.

Rani no Hajiro

Rani no Hajiro is best known for its traditional garments and jewellery. However, within the dense maze of this market lies a hidden selection of stalls and vendors who deal in fake designer purses, belts, sunglasses, and accessories. If you are looking for a Louis Vuitton-inspired handbag or Gucci-style sunglasses, this is where you will find them, without burning a hole in your wallet.

The items are often displayed alongside ethnic clothing, so they blend well with the rest of the merchandise. Many of the sellers here are women, and the vibe is slightly more relaxed compared to Lal Darwaja.

What sets this market apart is the unique mix of tradition and trend. You could easily walk out with a stunning embroidered dupatta in one hand and a fake Michael Kors tote in the other.

Law Garden Market

Law Garden is another famous name in Ahmedabad’s shopping world, especially known for traditional wear. But beyond its ethnic appeal, the street vendors surrounding the garden also sell an impressive range of copycat products.

You will find vendors selling sneakers branded as Adidas Yeezys, Nike Air Jordans, or Reebok trainers. Many college students and young professionals frequent this market looking for affordable fashion. There are also stalls with belts, wallets, “branded” T-shirts, and watches that mimic big names like Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, and others.

In the evening, Law Garden becomes a lively hangout with street food stalls lighting up the area, so after a round of bargain shopping, you can enjoy local favourites like pav bhaji, pani puri, or a cold kulfi.

Conclusion

Whether you are looking for high-quality bargains, you are a fashion lover on a budget, or simply a curious traveller wanting to experience the local scene, these markets offer something for everyone. They might be loud and crowded, but they are also vibrant and full of surprises, offering a unique experience for every visitor.
