One of the most memorable parts of our stay at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel wasn’t just the stunning Club Double Queen Room—it was the elegant and inviting Executive Club Lounge tucked away on the 11th floor. Far from being just a business traveller’s perk, this lounge quickly became a peaceful sanctuary for our family of four, offering a mix of comfort, style, and quiet moments that made our time in LA feel extra special.
We arrived on a Friday and stayed through the weekend, which meant we experienced the lounge during its self-service days. Although there was no hot food or fresh fruit available on Fridays and Saturdays, the space still felt like a premium experience. From the moment we walked in, the calm atmosphere and tasteful design gave us the sense that this wasn’t just an extra amenity—it was part of what made the hotel truly feel like home for a few days.
The lounge itself is beautifully decorated. Large windows flood the room with natural light, and the panoramic views of the Los Angeles skyline and the LAX runways kept our kids fascinated for hours. They loved sitting on the high stools by the windows, pointing out planes as they took off and landed in the distance. There’s something about watching the world go by from above that feels incredibly peaceful, and for children, it felt magical.
The space is filled with thoughtful design touches. Elegant blue dining chairs surround deep brown tables, each dressed with a single fresh flower in a vase. Modern pendant lights float above the centre of the room, casting delicate patterns across the ceiling, and abstract artwork brings subtle personality to the walls. There are plenty of different seating areas, from soft grey lounge sofas near a large flat-screen TV to café-style tables perfect for reading, working, or simply enjoying a drink.
At the centre of the room is a sleek, self-serve buffet area. On the weekend, it was stocked with clear glass jars filled with dry snacks—mixed nuts and hard candy. Our kids lit up at the sight of the sweet treats, and loved being able to serve themselves. While the snack selection was simple, it was well-presented and replenished regularly. Everything was clean, accessible, and easy to navigate—even for little hands.
The self-service coffee machine quickly became our best friend. Whether it was a morning cappuccino or an afternoon latte, the machine delivered great quality drinks in seconds. There were takeaway cups available too, which meant we could bring drinks back to the room or enjoy them on the go. Chilled soft drinks were neatly arranged in the under-counter fridge, and it was nice to be able to grab a cool drink without needing to trek to the lobby or pay hotel shop prices.
What truly stood out to us was how peaceful the lounge felt, despite being family-friendly. It wasn’t busy, even during peak times, and we never felt like we were disturbing anyone. The open layout made it easy for our children to stretch out a bit without feeling confined. We were able to sit back on the sofas, chat quietly, and just enjoy being together without the background noise of a busy restaurant or the formal feel of a typical hotel bar.
Had we stayed during the week, we would have been treated to a more extensive food service. From Sunday to Thursday, the Executive Club Lounge offers a proper evening spread with hors d’oeuvres served from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, followed by desserts from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Breakfast, meanwhile, is served downstairs in the Icon Restaurant on the lobby level from 6:00am to 11:00am—a generous option for those with access to the lounge. Even though we didn’t experience these weekday extras, the weekend lounge access still felt like a treat.
For us, the Executive Club Lounge wasn’t just a space to grab a snack or sip a coffee. It was a place to pause and reconnect as a family. The combination of calm surroundings, beautiful design, and little touches like flowers, sculptures, and panoramic views made it feel like a hidden gem in the middle of a busy city.
If you’re considering a stay at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel, we can’t recommend the Club Double Queen Room with lounge access enough. The room itself is perfect for families, and having the Executive Club Lounge just a few steps away adds another layer of comfort, calm, and luxury. For our family, it turned a simple airport hotel stay into something far more memorable—and we’re already planning our return.
