Swimming Pool at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

Swimming Pool at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

During our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, one of the highlights of our days was definitely our time at the pool. Hidden away below the hotel, the leisure area felt like a calm, inviting retreat — somewhere to unwind, splash, and reset after exploring Brighton’s lively seafront. The pool is absolutely gorgeous: clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with elegant white pillars and soft lighting that makes it feel both luxurious and peaceful.

The 14-metre indoor heated pool quickly became our daily ritual. It’s the perfect size for families — big enough to have a proper swim, yet cosy enough to keep that relaxed hotel-spa feel. The water temperature was spot-on every time, warm enough to slip into comfortably without any hesitation. It’s clear the hotel keeps the pool in immaculate condition — every visit it looked spotless, and the whole area had that fresh, just-cleaned feel that instantly puts parents at ease.

There are dedicated children’s hours until 6pm each day, which worked perfectly for us. We made it part of our late-afternoon routine, booking a slot at 5pm daily so we could all enjoy it together before dinner. Booking was simple, and the staff were so friendly and helpful about it. Each time we arrived, the pool was never too busy, which made it even more enjoyable — it felt like our own private little swim time. The calm atmosphere meant the kids could play freely and safely, while we could actually relax too.

The jacuzzi was a real treat, and a big hit with the kids. It’s great that children aged eight and over are allowed to use it, because it meant ours could join in and experience the fun rather than just watch from the side. Sitting there with the gentle bubbles and warm water after a few laps in the pool was heavenly — a lovely way to unwind together.

For grown-ups, there’s also a sauna and steam room right next to the pool. They’re both beautifully maintained and provide that spa-like moment of quiet after the energy of swimming with the kids. I loved that it all felt part of one cohesive space — you can easily keep an eye on the children while still getting a bit of relaxation in yourself.

What made the experience so enjoyable was how family-friendly it all felt without compromising on style or cleanliness. The atmosphere was relaxed, but everything was done to a high standard — from the plush white towels to the spotless poolside and calm lighting. It’s a space that welcomes families while still offering a sense of grown-up calm, which isn’t an easy balance to strike.

Each evening swim became a highlight for us. The kids looked forward to it all day — racing each other in the pool, jumping in with big smiles, and finishing off with a bubbly soak in the jacuzzi. For us adults, it was the perfect way to unwind after walking along the seafront or spending time in town. It felt like our own peaceful bubble, tucked away under the hotel yet full of warmth and laughter.

The indoor pool at the Brighton Metropole really is something special. It’s more than just a hotel facility — it’s part of what makes staying there feel like a full family experience. Between the sparkling water, the welcoming staff, and the balance of fun and relaxation, it turned our afternoons into something memorable. Whether you’re travelling with kids or simply looking for a tranquil swim, this pool is one of those hotel features that makes you want to come back again and again.
