The Slate Phuket offers a complimentary and supervised kids club, known as The Tin Box, to younger guests aged four to twelve. This kids club opens daily from 9am to 5pm, offering a host of scheduled activities. Children under four are welcome when accompanied by an adult. The resort does offer babysitting services, which can be booked in advanced for within the kids club or your guest suite or villa.
Arriving at the kids club at The Slate Phuket, you are welcomed by high wooden ceilings and white wooden walls, with round porthole-styled windows, giving a feeling that you are inside a boat. There are children's pictures on the walls and a brightly coloured “Welcome to The Tin Box” sign on the wall. While not overly-spacious, this kids club has it all. The shelves are brimming with toys and games, while there is soft matting on the floors for reading books. The television on the wall plays age-appropriate films throughout the day and there are ample tables and chairs for arts and crafts.
This kids club has been designed with care, providing a fun and engaging space for children to have fun and make new friends. Children can choose between scheduled activities, that change regularly, or free play.
The schedule of activities, known as Little Miners, runs in two sessions. The first is from 9am to 12pm and then from 1pm to 5pm, with an hour lunch break in between. While age appropriate films play throughout the day, the expert team of supervisors ensure that children engage and have fun when in this kids club. The activities do change regularly, ensuring children do not get bored, often including kids yoga, boxing, and aerobics, along with beach clean-up, rainbow in a bottle, and bubble-wrap painting. Other activities can include creative egg carton craft, flower making, jumping frog making, tissue art, and cap painting.
They also offer pizza making and cookie making, which need to be booked in advance. The team also put together mini competitions, such as table tennis tournaments, mini soccer matches, and Lego competitions. In addition to the kids club, the resort offers a host of family-friendly experiences and fun, such as archery and cooking classes, the lagoon pool with cascading waterfall, along with in-villa barbecues. Families can also relax on the stretch of beach, enjoying the sunshine while children splash in the clear waters or build sandcastles. This kids club does not provide food to children, but all the on-site restaurants offer children's menus and children under the age of seven eat free, when they dine with their parents. The resort also offers the added convenience of babysitting or child minding services, which can be used in the kids club or in your suite or villa, with advanced booking, at an additional charge. This kids club offers fun, entertainment, and engagement for young guests staying at The Slate Phuket, while providing parents with some adult time to enjoy some of the adult facilities provided by the resort.
