The first thing that caught our eye when we stepped into the executive club lounge at Conrad London St James was the modern décor. This large and spacious lounge offers ample tables, providing you with tranquillity and privacy. This is blended with the beautiful artwork adorning the walls, along with soft lighting, creating a welcoming ambience. It was a great place to relax after a day of exploring the London attractions.

A Taste of Elegance: Afternoon Tea

The first time we made use of this executive club lounge was to try the Afternoon Tea that we had heard so much about. The stage is set with the modern décor and comfortable seating, creating the perfect setting for the mouthwatering selection of traditional English tea and pastries.

We were impressed with the vast selection, that included a savoury choice of egg mayonnaise and ham and mustard finger sandwiches. There were sweet options, much to our children’s delight that included chocolate brownies and banana cake, each one freshly baked to perfection. The scones were fresh, served warm, with plain and chocolate chip options. Being an important part of English afternoon tea, there was strawberry jam and clotted cream to smother the scones with, which were pure bliss. In addition to this, there was a wide choice of biscuits, pretzels, and crisps, along with a wide choice of non-alcoholic cold beverages and hot drinks, including a wide variety of teas and coffee.

Being vegan, I often find that finding dining options is very challenging, especially in restaurants that focus on traditional cuisine, but the executive club lounge at Conrad London St James were very accommodating. The lounges manager, Peter, went out of his way to ensure that my needs were met, providing me with an alternative, including tomato and hummus sandwiches, a mouthwatering chocolate cake, and vegan scones. The vegan option was also presented to perfection and did not disappoint.

An Evening of Culinary Delights

As executive club lounge guests we were also welcomed to enjoy the evening canapés, served in the executive club lounge. This was a great way to start our evening before heading to the restaurant for our evening meal. Again, we were welcomed by a fantastic selection of cold canapés and a hot canapé, that was roast beef with garlic sauce and carrots. Each dish had been freshly prepared and presented to perfection. The children enjoyed the cold roast beef voi au vent with horseradish mayonnaise and onion chutney.

There was also a good selection of cold meats and cheeses, along with a wide variety of snacks, offering something for everyone. We were amazed at the extensive choice of beverages offered during evening canapés. There was everything you wanted from beer and spirits to wines and a choice of non-alcoholic beverages, including teas and coffees.

The service in the executive club lounge was professional, friendly, and attentive. The team provided fast and efficient service throughout our experience. Peter really stood out, ensuring we felt welcome and that we receive a first class guest experience. He is on hand to assist, always with a smile, even during busy periods.

We found ourselves spend a lot of our free time in the executive club lounge at Conrad London St James. It is so luxurious with a personal touch, going beyond food and drink. While our family loved the afternoon tea and evening canapés, it was the modern décor and ambience that kept us coming back for more.
