Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Oasis Pool Review

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach became something truly special the moment we discovered the Oasis Pool. Nestled among towering palms and vibrant tropical landscaping, this expansive pool area became the heart of our family holiday. We had originally planned to explore more of Newport Beach, but once we settled into the Oasis Pool, we found ourselves returning again and again — morning to evening, splash after splash.

At the centre of the Oasis is the large, sparkling main pool, which is both spacious and inviting. The water was a beautiful shade of blue, always clean and comfortably warm. It’s designed with families in mind, with plenty of shallow space for kids and deeper areas for confident swimmers. No matter how busy the hotel was, there always seemed to be room to play, float, or simply relax. We loved lounging on the sunbeds under wide umbrellas, soaking in the laid-back resort vibe while still being right in the middle of the action.

But it wasn’t just the pool that had us hooked — it was everything around it. The first thing our kids noticed was the incredible water slide. Built into a lush corner of the Oasis, surrounded by greenery, the twisty beige slide spirals down and ends with a splash into the pool. Our children must have gone down that slide dozens of times a day. They would race each other up the steps, count down loudly, and take turns whooshing down in fits of laughter. It became their favourite part of the whole holiday, and we loved watching their excitement every single time.

Right next to the main pool is a bright blue splashpad designed for younger kids — and it was an absolute hit. With water jets shooting up from the ground, spinning sprayers, and tipping buckets, it was a playful and safe space for endless water fun. The best part was that it was just a few steps away from the lounge chairs, so we could sit in the shade and still keep an eye on the little ones having the time of their lives.

For the grown-ups, the nearby jacuzzi was a dream. Tucked behind palm trees and slightly elevated, the bubbling spa pool offered a peaceful retreat to unwind sore muscles. We would slip into the warm water while the kids played nearby, and it felt like the perfect balance of family time and relaxation.

Beyond the water, the Hyatt really went above and beyond with its poolside entertainment. On the lawn near the pool, we found an entire zone filled with fun outdoor games. There was a table tennis table, oversized Jenga blocks, Connect Four, and even a dart-style axe-throwing game with soft Velcro axes. Another game involved tossing bean bags into tropical-themed boards — a simple concept, but surprisingly addictive! These games kept the kids entertained between swims and gave us something extra to do together as a family. It wasn’t just about swimming — it was about laughing, competing, and bonding in the sunshine.

The entire pool area felt like a mini resort within a resort. There were comfortable loungers everywhere, shaded cabanas, and friendly staff keeping everything tidy and welcoming. Even on the cloudier mornings, we found ourselves gravitating back to the Oasis Pool — grabbing towels, picking our usual spot, and settling in for another perfect day.

We also appreciated how beautifully the space was landscaped. The tropical plants, the winding paths, the smart layout of different activity zones — everything worked together to create an environment that was both energising and relaxing. It never felt overcrowded, and even at its busiest, there was always a sense of calm and enjoyment in the air.

What made the Oasis Pool truly memorable, though, was how it brought us together. Whether we were playing Jenga, racing down the slide, cheering each other on in bean bag toss, or just floating in the water, we were making memories as a family. Every photo we took around the pool captured a moment of joy. Every laugh echoed off the palm trees. Every splash was part of our perfect getaway.

By the end of our stay, we realised we had spent most of our time right there at the pool. And we wouldn’t have had it any other way. The Oasis Pool at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach didn’t just meet expectations — it created a home base for fun, connection, and sunshine-filled memories we’ll treasure forever.
