Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Room Review

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach was made even more special by the room we stayed in—an inviting and spacious 2 Double Beds Patio room located in the Balboa Building. From the moment we stepped in, we felt a genuine sense of calm. This 385-square-foot room was the perfect haven for our family, offering comfort, convenience, and a warm, coastal atmosphere that felt both luxurious and homey.

A welcoming view of the 2 Double Beds Patio Room in the Balboa building at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach — spacious, clean, and perfect for a relaxing family stay.

The room features two plush double beds with pillow-top mattresses, and they truly delivered on comfort. After a long day of exploring Newport Beach, we all sank into bed and enjoyed some of the best sleep of our trip. The beds were soft but supportive, and the crisp, white linens added a sense of freshness and cleanliness that stood out. There was also a handy sitting area with a small desk and chair, which we used to play games with the kids and plan the next day’s activities.

What we especially loved was the private outdoor patio. Surrounded by lush, manicured landscaping and shaded by tall palms, the patio gave us direct access to the beautiful garden walkways just outside the Balboa Building. Sitting out there in the morning with a coffee in hand and the kids running around on the nearby paths felt like a little slice of Southern California paradise. The patio came with a modern glass-topped table and two black wicker chairs—simple, stylish, and practical.

Step outside your room to this serene private patio with modern outdoor seating, surrounded by lush greenery and direct access to the walking path and pool area.

Inside, the room was equipped with everything we needed. The large 49-inch flat-screen TV offered video-on-demand, which kept the kids entertained during downtime. A minifridge was perfect for storing our drinks and snacks, and the in-room coffee maker helped us start our mornings right. We also appreciated the iHome stereo, which added a touch of fun when we wanted to listen to our own playlists. Other essentials like complimentary Wi-Fi, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer made packing and settling in completely stress-free.

The bathroom was equally impressive—modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. It had a sleek combination tub and shower, which was ideal for families. The kids enjoyed their bubble baths while we appreciated the rainfall-style showerhead. The vanity area was fitted with a large, illuminated mirror that made getting ready in the morning so easy. Underneath the sink, open shelving stored extra towels and essentials neatly. We were also happy to find quality bath products provided by the hotel, which added an extra touch of luxury.

What stood out most to us was how family-friendly yet refined the room felt. The layout was functional, the furnishings were tasteful, and the attention to detail—from the subtle lighting to the artwork—made it a truly relaxing place to unwind. Whether we were lounging inside, watching TV, or sitting outside on the patio enjoying the breeze, we always felt comfortable and at home.

This room wasn’t just a place to sleep—it was part of the vacation experience. The kids loved having space to stretch out, my wife and I appreciated the little conveniences, and together we all enjoyed the peaceful vibe of the Balboa Building. We wouldn’t hesitate to book the same room again the next time we’re in Newport Beach.
