VARU by Atmosphere Kids Club

The Kids Club at the VARU by Atmosphere resort in the Maldives, is set in the heart of the island with easy access from all the luxurious villas. This club, called On the Move, opens daily from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm, catering to children aged four to twelve years of age. Children under the age of four are welcome, when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Indoor and Outdoor Play Areas

Children under the age of four are welcome to attend the Kids Club without a parent or guardian when a babysitting service is booked, which is an additional US$20 per hour per child. The babysitting service is available from 8am to 12pm. The Kids Club is fully supervised with four experienced team members looking after the children, ensuring they remain safe and engaged. This large Kids Club spans over one hundred and twenty five square metres offering indoor and outdoor play areas for children to explore, learn and play.

The indoor area is bright and spacious, complete with rocking horses, bean bags in front of the television with games consoles and tables and chairs, where children can play board games, puzzles and do arts and crafts. There is also a nap area with cot. The team offer scheduled activities to encourage the children to learn and grow. The outdoor play area includes a brightly coloured climbing frame with slides, giving children a chance to run and play, while making new friends.

Scheduled Activities to Get Children Learning and Moving

The team put together a host of fun scheduled activities to encourage children to get moving and learn. The activities change regularly with each day offering something fun and different for the children to enjoy. From kids yoga and zumba in the mornings to nature walks, they encourage children to move and get outdoors. There is arts and crafts in the mornings which includes nature art, junk arts, shell necklace making and Dhivehi arts and crafts.

The children are encouraged to draw, do palm leaf origami and sand art. There is face painting, a kids beauty salon and collage story telling. They also bring out a host of age-appropriate board games or children can make their own aquarium sand art. In the afternoons, children can take part in Henna tattoos, paper origami, mini Olympics, shell collecting, face painting, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts and sand castle building. They also offer a movie hour in the late afternoon where they show age appropriate movies. The scheduled activities can change from time to time based on the weather and how many children are taking part.
