The new bridge in China’s Shiniuzhai National Park makes it difficult not to glance down. This bridge is located in Hunan Province’s Pingjiang County. The suspension bridge’s tread is almost entirely made of plexiglass, and it is known as the “most scary bridge in the world,” with a height of 180 meters and a length of 300 meters. The glass bottom allows hikers to see the entire valley below. The structure was appropriately named Haohan Qiao, which translates as “Bridge of the Brave.”
Fortunately for tourists, the bridge is very safe, and up to 800 people can stand on the 24-millimetre-thick glass at the same time, so this outing is suitable for the entire family. Furthermore, the rebate provides substantial support, reducing the risk of individuals falling even if the glass has cracked.
The Haohan Qiao is not China’s only glass bridge, but it is the country’s first suspension bridge made completely of glass. A second glass suspension bridge with a length of 430 meters and an altitude of 300 meters was planned to be built 300 kilometres away in the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon area. It would then be the world’s highest and longest glass bridge.
